BIGGBY® COFFEE Launches Customizable, Made-to-Order Energy Beverage Line, BIGGBY® Blast

Available at the leading coffee franchise’s nearly 300 locations starting June 1, the made-to-order, customizable energy beverage stands out from other ready-to-drink, prescriptive energy drink options.

 

 

Lansing, MI — BIGGBY® COFFEE , the nearly 300-unit unit franchise dedicated to helping its franchisees, employees and customers build a life they love, is launching customizable, made-to-order energy drinks just in time for summer. The new line of energy drinks, called BIGGBY® Blast, will be available at all BIGGBY® COFFEE locations beginning June 1, 2022. There are four recipes that will be available at launch, Blood Moon (blood orange and mango), Electric Dragon (dragon fruit and lemon slice), Green Lagoon (granny smith apple), Scuba (blue raspberry and strawberry popping boba), along with a Build Your Own Blast choice.

 

Though fully customizable, each BIGGBY® Blast energy beverage is sparkling and has a sour and sweet twist. “They’ve been likened to Sour Patch Kids or Jolly Ranchers,” explained Amy Soltis, profitability and product development manager for the BIGGBY® COFFEE brand.

 

“We have always been in the energy category at BIGGBY® COFFEE. We use coffee, tea and natural juices to achieve most of that energy, but we have dabbled in energy using Red Bull for years,” explained Bob Fish, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of BIGGBY® COFFEE. “One of the unique attributes of coffee is that you get to design your drink the way you want it designed — number of shots, what kind of milk or whether you want mocha or vanilla. You are the master of your own palate’s destiny. We saw an opportunity to do the same thing in the energy category.”

 

BIGGBY® COFFEE first pioneered energy in 2009 by introducing Red Bull beverages long before other coffee shops did. Given the track record of growth with those beverages, alongside the continued buzz around things like mocktails over the last decade, the innovative brand has now decided to double down, refreshing its energy offerings to appeal to a wider market segment.

 

Currently, the majority of energy drinks in the space are offered in prepackaged settings. That’s where BIGGBY® COFFEE will change how these drinks are ordered. “There are 1,000 cans in a cooler, and they’re all prescriptive,” Fish said. “They’re all something you have to choose between and from… Custom energy drinks are super compelling next to static canned options.”
BIGGBY® COFFEE partnered with food and beverage innovation company Mattson for development of BIGGBY Energy. As the line continues to develop beyond the initial launch, the
goal will remain consistent: provide customers across the country with the ability to customize every part of their energy drink orders, from the color to the flavor and more.
