Double Shot of BEANER'S COFFEE Coming to West Michigan

Grand Rapids, Mich., September 28, 2007 – Lansing Mich.-based coffee retailer, BEANER’S COFFEE, will open two new West Michigan locations—one in Grand Rapids and another in Kentwood—in the next 20 days.  The new stores mark the 12th and 13th respectively in Greater Grand Rapids for the rapidly expanding coffee franchise.

BEANER’S COFFEE will open a store Monday, October 1 at 4035 Plainfield Ave., in Grand Rapids. This is the first BEANER’S location for the father and son team Howard and Jason Nash. The retailer will open a Kentwoodlocation at 6082 Kalamazoo Avenue on October 15. The Kentwood store is the fourth location for family team Mike, Francie and Tim Barker.

“The Beaner’s experience connects with true coffee connoisseurs, budget-conscious college students and Monday morning commuters alike,” said Mike Barker, co-owner of the new Kentwood store.  “We are excited to expand our relationship with the company with the opening of our fourth store and look forward to bringing the Beaner’s experience to even more coffee lovers throughout West Michigan.”

The new BEANER’S locations bring the total store count to 79 stores in nine states.  These new stores come on the heels of Grand Opening celebrations in Allendale last month and in Cascade in July.  The Grand Rapids-area growth is in line with the Company’s plan to expand its retail presence in the Midwest and South by 60% before 2010; from 76 to 112 stores.

The Plainfield store is open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m Monday thru Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The Kentwood store is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Both feature a convenient drive thru, free wireless internet access and plentiful seating for student and business group meetings.

The two stores combined will bring nearly 40 new full and part-time jobs to the area.

BEANER’S COFFEE continues its rapid ascent in the gourmet coffee retail sector with a 53 percent increase in system wide sales in 2006— nearly half of that realized as new store growth. The franchise ended the year with 63 stores open and another 75 under contract.

Earlier this month, the company announced plans to change its name to BIGGBY COFFEE, which the two new stores will convert to over the coming months.
