NEW LIVONIA BIGGBY COFFEE CAFE TO OPEN ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Opening to Include Festivities, Free Coffee & Mayoral Visit

LIVONIA, Mich. March 10, 2009 – East-Lansing based BIGGBY COFFEE will open a new location in Livonia area next week on March 17.  The new café is located at 11003 Middlebelt in Livonia.  Mayor Jack Kirksey will be present along with city dignitaries to cut the ribbon at 10:00 a.m.  The new location will give away prizes, drink samples and host festivities that are sure to draw a crowd.

 

Friends Duane Walczak and Rick Knight are opening the new location.  “Rick and I have been friends since college and our kids have grown up together—going into business side by side was just a natural fit, ” said Walczak.  “The BIGGBY COFFEE way of treating customers like family and emphasizing an atmosphere of fun really fits with our way of doing business.”

 

The duo has quite a day planned.  In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, a “pot o’ gold” giveaway will include prizes including tickets to a Tigers game, a $50 gift card and other BIGGBY COFFEE merchandise. Free brewed coffee will be given away during opening week and on opening day customers can sample the company’s trademark coffee drinks, teas and frozen beverages.

 

The Livonia location will feature a drive-through, cozy fireplace, flat screen television and soft seating.  Business hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
